My love for animals and graphic design resulted in a series of commissioned portraits of our furry friends. Gelato
Hoodies (print and embroidery)
Gelato the pug is a beloved member of the family. The hoodies with his unique portrait brought joy to the girls and their mum.
It started with a series of photos, from which I made some sketches and then created a bespoke vector graphic in Illustrator.
Mika
Embroided hoodies
Mika's portrait was also based on a series of photos sent by her owner. Even though a graphic portrait is simplified and abstracted, it still has to bear likeness to your furry friend – their gaze, expression, stance, markings, their harness.
Dora
Acrylic painting
Dora was a different commission – painting on canvas. The process began with a photo session, then on the basis of the photos together with Dora's Dad we chose the one which would be the basis for the artwork. The next phase was a few digital sketches – studies for the portrait.
And finally, the painting on canvas 61x76cm.
